What happens on site
The inspector arrives with everything needed to complete a Queensland safety inspection independently of a workshop — jacking equipment, brake and light testing gear, and the tooling to correct minor defects on the spot.
The vehicle is checked cold and then road-tested where possible, so brake performance and steering behaviour are assessed under load rather than on a stand alone.
Findings are recorded as you watch, and anything that fails is shown to you physically before it goes on the report — no ambiguous line items on an invoice.

A fail comes with a written defect list. Minor items are frequently repaired during the same visit; anything requiring parts is covered by a free re-inspection within 14 days of the original booking.

What does a mobile roadworthy inspection cover?
The full Queensland statutory checklist: brakes, steering, suspension, tyres and wheels, lights and reflectors, glass and mirrors, seatbelts, body and chassis, exhaust and emissions, plus fluid leaks.
How long does the inspection take?
45 to 60 minutes for most light vehicles. Larger vans and utes can take a little longer, particularly if access underneath is tight.
Where do you need the car parked?
Somewhere flat with room to open the doors, jack the vehicle safely and get underneath — a driveway, garage forecourt or a corner of a car park is ideal.
Do you explain the result?
Yes. The inspector walks you through what was checked, anything marginal that will need attention soon, and anything that failed, before the certificate is lodged.
Is an inspection the same as a pre-purchase inspection?
No. A roadworthy inspection tests against the minimum legal safety standard. A pre-purchase inspection is a much broader condition and mechanical assessment for buyers — we offer that separately.
Can you inspect at night or on weekends?
Evening and Saturday windows are available by arrangement, subject to enough light and safe access to work around the vehicle.
